ISA SUP Flatwater Instructor

The ISA SUP Flatwater Level 1 course is for anyone who wishes to become a qualified SUP instructor on flat water. The course aims at qualifying your skills as an instructor and give you the knowledge required to teach beginners on the flat water. It is assumed that your basic SUP skills are in place, as the course is primarily focused on the role of being an instructor, the didactics and pedagogy.

The course will mainly focus on:

• Water safety including analysis of suitable areas for teaching and rescue plans
• Building lesson plans
• Exercises on land and on water
• Rescue of unconscious in the water
• Feedback methods for students
• Organization of course participants on the water
• Knowledge of equipment

After completing the course you will need to complete 20 hours post course training and submit documentation before you can receive your final certificate. It is your responsibility as an instructor to completed the post course training and submit the relevant documents to the Presenter and the DSRF.

The duration of the course is approximately 16 hours divided into 2 days and you will be shifting between being on the water and in the class room. The final program for the course and teaching materials will be send out to you approx. 1 week before the course by the course presenter.

You’re responsible to find your own accommodation if needed and remember to bring your own food and snacks for the course. We will provide coffee and fruit. You must also bring your own equipment (board, wet suit, life jacket, etc.).

Course price: 950, – kr. + ISA Certification fee 1.050, – kr. Total: 2,000 kr.

IMPORTANT !: With this course, you will be certified as an ISA instructor under the International Surfing Association. The ISA certification is recognized worldwide and you will have to renew your certification every year to maintain your certification. As an instructor, you are responsible for re-certifying yourself as an instructor at ISA every year.
